Automated Direct Debit Amendment and Cancellation Service
Under the Direct Debit Guarantee, payers have the right to amend or cancel a Direct Debit Instruction. Should a payer or their bank cancel or amend a Direct Debit Instruction, you will be advised via Bacs’ Automated Direct Debit Amendment and Cancellation Service (ADDACS).
You must affect the change or cancellation on receipt of the ADDACS advice to ensure incorrect collections do not take place.
When processing an ADDACS advice, it is a prohibited practice to send an AUDDIS Cancellation (0C) advice to the Paying bank. This could lead to instructions being inadvertently cancelled.
